Shabby teapot!!

Hello,

Today I am posting a card that has been great fun to make, mainly because it's not a huge job like a mini album or a video tutorial, just a nice small project where someone tells me the guide lines and I can just go for it .....Yes I'm going to make 2014 a go for it year!!!!
My daughter has been requesting lots of albums for sooo long now I just can't put her off any longer!!!

Anyhow, lets get back to my card.  The main colours are white and cream. Firstly I coated the card with matt medium and then used gesso over a stencil to give some nice texture.  The edges are inked with Ranger distress inks to bring in a bit of definition.  For the butterfly, a textured cardboard was used and then a scrape of gesso and glossy accents on the edges with a hint of glitter added for a bit of sparkle...{You can never have enough sparkle!!!!).
Also added was a die cut envelope and some flowers, buttons and ribbon to set it off.
Do you like my knitting? I haven't knitted for years and it is a hard task doing it with cocktail sticks!

Hope you like it...I am entering it into the challenge at The shabby tea room You should pop over and see the site.

 Have a good week
Hugs Julie x

Challenges

Hi there,

I have decided to have a go at some challenges as I've never entered any before....Woo Hoo love a new challenge (He He).

I'm going to enter this card which I made using visible image stamp set Beauty is Art.
I have used some textured soft netting and then applied some versa mark ink is places to it.  Then I sprinkled on two different colours of embossing powder and heated it. Used normal embossing for the letters on the vellum (very thick one) and on the torso and word goddess and the greek key border.
The plastic connected by the chain is shrink plastic.  Ripe a shape out and then punch a large hole in it near the edge then shrink it.  now apply embossing powders and heat, when it is cool apply a good coat of glossy accents or diamond glaze and then add some beads.
The red card for the background is by kanban.
Hope you like it....these are the challenges I am entering it in....

Hi,

Today I'm posting a mixed media canvas I did for my friend Chris.
Iwanted to do this as she suffers from M.E. and sometimes struggles with day to day things due to her illness.  However she always keeps a brave face and is almost always smiley and happy.  She is a great friend to me and I did this so she could hang it in her craft room.  Hopefully it will cheer her up on the more gloomy days.

I am  entering it into a challenge on Limor Webbers Blog which has to include a recycled house hold item.  I have used the ribbon end fluffy fused end of the netting that comes on fruit and used it as the fluffy looking centre of the large flower ( I died it and the ribbon with alcohol Inks).  Also I used the middle of a toilet roll to die cut the letters.

I used gesso, acrylics, rub ons stamps, multimedium, inks, alcohol inks and papers etc.
I would have tried to get some unity stamps as they look great but it was too late by the time I saw the challenge.

Go to limors great blog she is very talented and has loads of you tube videos you can check out.  The link is http://chicscrapbookdesigns.blogspot.ca/2012/09/august-mixed-media-contest-winner-and.html

11th september 2012

Hi crafty friends,

This is a mixed media canvas I made using some Visible image stamps.  It's great fun to do and using a minimum of materials you can create a beautiful image to go on your wall or give as a gift. Make it with a childs name for their room or a wedding version with a blank frame so the couple can add a photo of their choice to hang up as a keepsake.  There are so many options.!!!

The videos are up on my you tube channel and I hope you will try one.  You could even make a christmas version to hang up as a decoration.  I know visible image have some great xmas stamps.
Here are the photos of the canvas......and the links to the video tutorials are here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJ_y_kUcQ-A&feature=plcp and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PofFmyeMKXo&feature=plcp
