Hello everyone,

I was lucky enough to come 2nd in the Shabby tea room challenge recently and won some beautiful vintage images from Janet, she has an etsy shop where she sells the vintage files click here to find out more.

Debbie-Anne has asked me to Guest design for her this week, which I am really excited about and has given me this baby shower themed photo for inspiration....

So I thought I would make a brag book, to show off the photos taken at the baby shower.
The colours are really wonderful, pastel blues and pinks, yellows and greens.  Of course it has that Shabby look, one of my favourite styles along with vintage.

So here are some photos of the brag book....

The base of the pages were made with small standard (6 1/4" x 4 1/2") envelopes, cut open on both long edges so that they measure 6 1/4" x 4" (one opening side to fit over the binding tabs and the other for the pocket opening).  Then I matted the entire page on both sides with spring drop and spring feast first edition papers.
On the inside of each of the page pockets you will be able to add a tag measuring 5 3/4" x 3 3/4".
The spine is made with card measuring 6 3/4"x 5" (score it longways at 2" and 3") The two outside sections are stuck onto the inside of the two cover pieces making the pocket on the inner cover.  Have a look at this photo.....

The two covers are 6 3/4" x 4 1/4".
The binding method used was the stack the deck by Laura Denison with 1/8" gaps between the pages tabs.  I used tabs of 3/8".  You can find out how to bind in this way from Laura's you tube site.
I have added a doily which I used as a stencil to give little patches of pattern on the blank cover and then inked them a tiny bit more using brilliance inks, sticking some sections near the edges.  You can find some lovely vintage baby images with the stork which you can scan from google images.
I finished it with a banner made from tiny paper triangles and another with ribbon strips,  the odd bits of patchwork on the front cover were from some scraps of paper I had in my stash, sorry I don't know who makes it.  Then just a few bows and tiny flowers to set it off.

If you have any questions just leave a comment and I will do my best to answer you.

Don't forget to go to the Shabby tea room site and find out about their weekly challenges.
Hope that I get the chance to Guest design for them again as I love this Shabby chic look.

Hi,

Here are some photos of the finished and decorated Christmas card/bragbook.
I have used some Visible image stamps,  these are the ones I used, you can click on their title to go to the stamps page, christmas collage, snowy background, snowflake corner, and the vintage christmas trio.  You could of course use any of the Visible Image stamps for your own book. There are six pages where you can add photos and you can  also add two tags if you like.  Plenty of room for that Christmas photo bragging!!!

For the photo corners (which you can slide a photo under) I used the sizzix Tim Holtz Baroque movers and shapers and just cut it into quaters.  I've inked with stampin up inks crumb cake and real red and distress ink pine needles. The die cut leaves are Tim Holtz alterations autumn gatherings.  The little bells add a christmasy tinkle when you move the card.

If you have any questions let me know......you can the finished TUTORIAL FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS CARD/BRAG BOOK on my you tube channel.

Hi my crafty friends,

I have just completed a christmas...Well, I call it creation because it's not only a card but a christmas hanging as well.  Whoever you give it too can use it as part of their festive decorations.
Of course you can change the colours to suit whatever theme they have in their home. The greeting goes on the back and you could also include the year and make it a keepsake.  What about making one for yourself...make some pages on the back and add some photos and journalling about all the fun you and your family had.
Here are some photos.....

I used 3 stamps from visible image  click on one to take you straight to the stamp at the website
Large Vintage santa, Vintage christmas trio and christmas collage.  Mark and Helen are offering 25% off their Christmas stamps until Sunday 29th October....that's an offer you can not miss!!

24th August 2012,

Hi crafty friends,

Hope your week is going well.

My latest you tube video tutorial is using Visible Image stamps and it is a card which is also a gift card holder.

The great thing is that you can put gift cards inside or cash or even make the card with sayings or poems and put in one of those little plastic cards that look like credit cards but have little saying on them(you can get them in card shops).  They could be to family or friends, just to say hello or how are you, get well, thank you or just to cheer someone's day up.

I have done mine with the men in mind to show off some of Visible images wonderful men's stamps.
Hope you all like it and will have a go at one yourself.
Go to my you tube channel for the tutorial.

And here are the photos.......

 Front cover

You can add cash or a gift card

The mens stamps are really great

You can add a message on the panel and on the tag that fits
in the pocket

14th August 2012,

 Hi everyone,

I am here to tell you about my latest project which is for Visible Image stamps at http://visibleimage.co.uk
Helen and Mark have been kind enough to include me in their design team and I have been busy making my 1st project for them...the first of many, I hope.  Here are the photos of the file folder I made to store the stamps in.

When the stamps arrive they are packed in little plastic envelopes so I have used these to store the stamps within the file. I hope you will try to make one for yourself  I know that as well as looking good in your craftroom it will be very useful too.
The tutorials on how to make the file start to finish are at my you tube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/hannahjulienigel?feature=mhee

Here are the photos....

22 july 2012,

Hi everyone,

Well it's sunday morning and the sun is out.....have all Brit's forgotten what the sun actually looks like...it's been so long!!!!

I have just made another mini in a box for a work mate who has a 21st birthday this week.  I thought that it would be great to pop in some photos of her day.  These little albums are so quick to make and real fun,  a sort of little gift and card at the same time.  I added her name and packed it up in a cello  card bag and put on some ribbon and a tag, it looked so cute.

I've entered it into the Sir stampalot monthly challenge.  Have a go with what you are creating just now. My you tube tutorial for the mini in a box can be found here

Here are the pictures...

Hi there,

Hope you have all had a great crafty week.

I have been very busy this past week and didn't manage to do a WOYWW last week. So i'm visiting julia's http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/ site today to catch up.

My new job has been very busy indeed and I helped my daughter move (lots of packing and cleaning for 3 days!). I also visited the Newbury craft show with my friend Chris and bought lots of crafting goodies, just need some energy now to get going and use them. Got so tired that I had Monday off ( yes even from crating!!) just watched films and ate chocolate, a wonderful pick me up!

I also have some news  Malcolm and Jean from crafty Individuals are sending me some goodies so I can use them on some of my tutorials.  These stamps are one of my favourites and it will be great to show them to you all.  I love them because they give such a good finished image and they have lots of vintage images that are beautiful.  Here's a link to the site http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk

Now I'm off to look at some of your work....

beach huts

27th June 2012,

Hi everone,

So what's on my work desk this wednesday....The finished beach hut album!!
I have had great fun with this one, it made me feel sunny even when it was grey and raining outside.
I hope the couple I made it for feel the same.  I loved the papers and making all those little beach huts, I was going to put in some vintage beachy photos in at the begining but decided on a different more modern style in the end.

The link for the video showing the finished album is below and there are also some tutorials on how to make it on my you tube channel along with lots of other tutorials you may find useful.
Also go to julia's channel to the WOYWW post to see whats happening on everyone else's desks!!

Today I am adding photos of a little brag book I made. I was pleased with the way it came out as it looked nice and cheery. I got the idea from Lori on her you tube channel klipngirl , she does some amazing inserts for mini albums but you can also use them to make just a single small pocket album as I have.

Have a go you can get quite a lot of photos in here and its handy for your handbag.
